Our Story

A Khandallah fixture, fed by hand since 2011.

Dunshea’s Deli sits on the corner of Burma Road, just around the bend from Khandallah Park and the Skyline trailhead. For more than a decade it’s been the village’s morning ritual: a flat white before the hill, a pie at lunch, a bag of provisions on the way home.

Craig and the team run it the way a good local should be run. Everything in the cabinet is made on site, the coffee is poured with care, and there are always GF options and alternative milks for whoever walks in. People drive the extra distance for it, and say so.

More than a Café

A proper deli counter, not just a coffee stop.

The shelves are stocked the way a village deli should be: preserves and piccalilli, cordials and syrups, good oils and pasta, fresh produce in the baskets and flowers by the till. Pick up dinner on the way home, or a gift on the way out.

  • Preserves, jams & piccalilli
  • Cordials, syrups & cottage drinks
  • Olive oils, pasta & pantry staples
  • Fresh produce & cut flowers

A lovely family deli-cafe just around the corner from Khandallah Park and the Skyline trailhead. Craig and the team are super friendly, fast and serve great coffee and cakes, and they have a great breakfast and lunch menu too. One of my favourite venues in Wellington.

Hands down the best coffee we've had in Wellington. Just so smooth, melt in your mouth type deliciousness. I had a mocha and my partner had a vanilla latte with almond milk. Food was good too, service was really good and friendly. Will definitely be back!

We were delighted that we chose to go to Dunshea's Deli. I had the smoked mushrooms served on a bed of wild rice with broccoli. Top notch food. Damn nice coffee. Friendly and efficient staff. I'll be back, and will drive the extra distance to get there.

A delicious soup and a hearty chorizo hash made for the perfect Sunday lunch. Such a lovely little spot with a great atmosphere. Plenty of GF options and alternative milks for those who need them. A delightful place to relax and enjoy some seriously good food.

A note from the builder

Like it? It is yours.

I am Si from ProperSites. I build a real, working site for a business before I ever pitch it, so what you are looking at is the actual thing, made for Dunshea's Deli, not a template with your name dropped in or a quote for something that does not exist yet.

The site is yours to keep. It is was $997 $697 to make it live on your own domain, then $49 a month just keeps it hosted and looked after. Month to month, never a lock-in, and if you ever leave you take the site with you. Most builders are the opposite: stop paying and your site disappears. Not here.
